6 Critical Ways To Create Your 6-Figure Business

The other day, I spent some time looking through some of my books to find a quote from successful marketing leaders. I realized how nice it would be if I had every technique I use today to grow a 6-figure business all in the same spot.

Today I want to share with you the top 6 tips I can give you for building a successful 6-figure business in the fastest and easiest way possible.

So let’s just dig right in…

1. Know Exactly Why You Want To Be Successful

Making a whole bunch of money is not the answer you should have for being in this industry. While making money is great, you must know what your deeper motivator is to earn 6 figures.

  • You want more free time to spend with your spouse and kids.
  • You want a schedule that allows you to travel the world.
  • You would like to live a less stressful life by taking care of all your debts.

No matter what your reason is for wanting success in this industry, you must write it all down and place it somewhere you will see every day. It will serve as a daily reminder why you are working so hard to make it as a networker. Your goals must be greater than the challenges that will arise along the way.

My personal goal was to be able to help my family and return the favor for all the support they have provided for me over the years. Even though they were struggling, they continued to offer me their 100% support. I just wanted to show how much I appreciated it by giving back. Oh, and it also allowed me the freedom to spend more time with them, go on more vacations, and enjoy much more experiences together!

I believe more income means more resources that will enable me to reach a greater number of people, and show them how they can also experience the same freedom.

I don’t know what drives you, and I’m not going to tell you why you should be in this industry. I am only saying that you must know exactly why for yourself, if you truly want to become successful.

2. Find A Great Mentor That Fits You

This is one of the tips that is most often overlooked, especially by those new to network marketing. So if you are just starting out in an opportunity make sure to pay special attention to this point.

First let me explain that a mentor is not there to do your work for you. The sole purpose of having a mentor is to reduce the amount of wasted time spent going through the “learning curve” and to assist you during the initial struggle. While there are a number of successful leaders out there, not all will be compatible with your personality. If you are a more relaxed and easy going person, it would not make sense to follow a high energy, strong personality type. Instead, look for someone that has become successful with the same kind of traits you have. In this manner, you will learn how to develop your natural characteristics. It is very important to be “Yourself”! I can’t stress that enough.

Below is a short list of guidelines to follow when choosing a mentor:

A) Your mentor must have already accomplished what you are looking to achieve.

And remember, you are not searching for a friend but instead an instructor. This is a business and you must remember to treat it as such. Find a great mentor who will be able to guide you in the right direction.

B) Make sure your mentor is still IN the business.

I hear far too many stories from struggling distributors about how they were working with a retired mentor who has had huge success in the industry only to find out that none of their techniques still work today. Let me tell you what I mean. The networking industry is constantly changing and evolving. Strategies that may have worked very well in the past may be osbsolete now.

So make sure your mentor is changing and evolving their current techniques with the current market.

The next advice I can give you may seem like common sense but you’d be surprised how many people rush through this process and end up paying the price later.

3. Be Careful to Choose Your Product Wisely

There are a couple reasons this step is so crucial to the success of your business.

You want to make sure your business or product is something you feel very passionately about. If you don’t express a high interest in your product, neither will your future prospects. However, if you DO show a passion for your product, it will show a hundred times over.

You will also want to find a business or product that is currently hot in the market. For example, if you sell VHS tapes, your only demographic may be people 60 years and up.

So it is important to do your research. This is how fortunes are made!

4. Choose Your Vehicle To Your Dreams Wisely

First, you will want to choose a vehicle that is as automated as possible. This will give you the time for taking off, traveling, or whatever it is that you like to do when not working.

That is why you are getting into this business in the first place, right?

What I mean is your business should be efficient at making money and working for you, even when you don’t want to.You also need to choose the right marketing vehicle to avoid Linear Income. This refers to income that you receive directly for working a number of hours. Non-linear income refers to income that you earn even when you’re NOT working.

Fortunes are made when you develop non-linear income streams, just like the one I show you here in this video.

Because when you are able to walk away from your business and still have income, you have Leveraged Income, which in turn, creates a Lifestyle.

This is when you have enough income to do the things you want to do and all the time in the world to do them. All while your business grows on auto-pilot!

5. Personal Growth & Development

As an entrepreneur your education NEVER stops. The more you earn, the more you should LEARN.

This happens to be my favorite area of interest as well as the one that requires the most discipline and self control.

No matter what your product, the real product is always “You”. It is your job to keep up with the market and be aware of new strategies. You must keep educating yourself about people.

This is so important because if you do not know how your prospects thinks, you’ll never make any sales.

  • Start with yourself.
  • Continue reading great books and articles.
  • Pick up CDs and DVDs.
  • Attend LIVE events such as conferences and webinars.
  • Surround yourself with positive and successful people.
  • Be honest.
  • Keep control of your ego and stay humble.
  • As your skills as a leader/communicator grow, so will your sales.

6. Consistency

Success is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration. The only way to succeed is to stay consistent with your hard work!

It is easy to lose hope during the initial struggle of building your business. This is the number one reason most do not succeed. But if you simply hang in there, and focus daily on just taking steps in faith, there is no doubt that you will achieve your dreams of wealth and freedom through your business.

    Hey Greg, I’m big on number 1 and 3. I definitely encourage starting a journal which keeps your mind fresh, open and thinking. Also with number 3 a lot of people get involved with a business because it’s lucrative, not because they’re interested in the products/services. This is one major reason why a lot of people fail and quit. Finding something that you have a passion for will keep you motivated until you become successful.

    Hey Greg! Man, these are all great – every single one of these represents a part of our success with networking. The last one in particular is what stands out the most for me. Consistency. You know, the Grand Canyon was carved out by relentless and consistent action. That shows you the power of consistent action.

    Today, we’ve all got a MILLION different distractions and it’s soooo easy to drop the ball with regard to consistency, but if you follow what you listed for 1-5, staying consistent becomes that much easier.

    Great post, there are a many great nuggets here that can take a person that is not only struggling in their business but also their life and become successful.

    We love the very last “way” you mention is consistency….. we see and deal with so many business owners that “try” something for a week or two and think it is not working. There is a great deal of success in those that keep “picking” away at their business, adding another level of marketing to their business.

    It really is no different than blogging, putting up a couple posts a month does not attract anything but “crickets”…..
