Notes From Las Vegas Pacesetter Event

 

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to put together some of my notes for you all from the breakout sessions at the Pacesetter Event this past weekend.

 
 
 
 
 

1. Lynn Carillo – Social Media (Funneling System)

  • Facebook – main social media site. Focus on building relationships and engaging.
    • Don’t just talk about your opportunity!
    • It is a social site, so be social – use pictures, videos, and comments to engage with your contacts
  • Twitter – micro blog site
    • Use the links of your video emails and post them here.
    • Don’t spam your opportunity!
  • LinkedIn – professional/business social media
    • Treat it like a resume
    • If you do nothing else in this site, at least post your resume
    • This is the site to talk business!
  • Pinterest – creating backlinks through pictures
    • Best place to create backlinks to your sites
    • The hottest social media site right now

 
 

There are hundreds of social media sites. Start with facebook and learn how to use it before moving on to the next social media site. Don’t overwhelm yourself trying to learn every single site. When the “Smash Bar” comes out, it will manage all the sites in one place. I will talk about the “Smash Bar” in a little bit.

 
 
 
 

2. Rick & Seth Everts (First Global Field Chairmen)

The first thing they talked about was being yourself. People join and do business with “You”, not the company. You can be yourself, but act as if you already have a million dollar business. Just act the part until you become the part. You don’t have to lie.

S.C.I.P.A.B. – the structure of your conversation when talking to prospects.

You should be asking questions to find out more about your prospect. The one asking the questions is the one in control of the conversation. You want to find out about them. You want to be “Interested” and not “Interesting”. That means you are listening to them and not the one talking the whole time.

  • Situation: Find out what their current situation is. Why do they need your business opportunity?
  • Complication: What are the challenges they are currently facing?
  • Implication: What would happen if they continue doing what they are doing?
  • Position: You are in the position with the company to help them change their circumstances.
  • Action: Tell them the action they should take in order to change their situation (ie – view the “live” presentation, become an affiliate, .. etc)
  • Benefit: What will be the benefit of them taking the action you suggested? Tell them! Share your own story or the stories of others. How has your business changed lives?

 

*People want to know how you can help them, or what’s in it for them. Rick jokingly said, “people are self-centered”. He may have been joking, but it is true. Prospects won’t listen to you talk about how great the company is, how awesome the comp plan is, how amazing the products are, …etc. All they want to know is how joining the company is going to change their situation! Make it about them.
 
 
Mindset – Quit worrying about what other people think about you. You have the right vehicle to help people get where they want to go in life. It is them that needs to join “You”, not you that needs them to join. I’m sure you all heard that saying, “Some will, some won’t, so what! Next..”!

We are in a filtering and sorting business. The more people you put into your information funnel, the more people you will recruit!

3 Questions to Ask Yourself

  1. How are you going to run your million dollar business?
  2. Who do you want to work with (qualify your prospects) – are they willing to get out there and work as hard as you?
  3. How valuable is your time?

    Sounds like a very educational weekend! Great article! Thanks for sharing. I especially like the idea of learning one social media at a time instead of trying to learn many at once. I’ve found it overwhelming to do so!

    What a great post with SO MUCH POWERFUL content…. This is a must read for anyone starting to market any business or product online. This actually is a great refresher for anyone that has been online and even has had great success.

    I know that going to events are a great way to meet great people and be around like minded people. As a human race we are so muck like the mighty chameleon that changes its color with its surroundings. We have the ability to change who we are by the people that we surround ourselves with.
